Olympic Torch Relay through Fakenham
On July 4th 2012 the Olympic Torch will be coming through Fakenham and North Norfolk District Council are organising an event to mark the occasion. The celebrations will start at 12.00 noon in the market place, which will be closed to through-traffic. There will be stands and displays happening during the afternoon for your entertainment.
The town church bells will ring at midday for the start of the event. This will be followed by various displays from local sports clubs and Fakenham High School will be providing some music with the school band which will be a session not to be missed at 2.15pm.
The torch will be coming through at 3.13pm.
The Junior and Infants schools will be having a family picnic on their school field and they will all be making Olympic torches to wave the torch through. Budgens of Fakenham will also be giving out goody bags on the day.
Some come along to the market place on July 4th and enjoy this historic event. If you would like more details or would like to volunteer to be a marshal on the day, or have a stand please contact Wyn on 01263 516305 or 07795265671 or e-mail wyn.nurse@north-norfolk.gov.uk
