Denise runs her jewellery stall in the shed to the side of the market area outside Argos. Being undercover means she is there whatever the weather! She makes her own necklaces and earrings in silver and semiprecious stones in a variety of ethnic, contemporary and classic styles.
Where are you from?
I am Norfolk born, currently living in East Tuddenham.
How long have you been at Fakenham Market?
About 9 years.
What are your opening times here?
7.30am – 1pm
Which other markets do you attend?
Swaffham, and a few local festivals such as Aylsham Show and Worstead Festival.
What led you to running this stall?
I have travelled very widely and the beautiful jewellery I saw in countries such as India, Bali, Egypt and Thailand inspired me to take up selling and making jewellery, and my time in India also led me to train as a Yoga teacher, and I now run classes in Dereham Leisure centre and Matishall.
What do you like about Fakenham Market?
I love having a wander round myself. I like going to the auction and enjoy the huge variety of goods on offer around the stalls as well as the friendly people.
What kind of things do you sell?
I travel abroad to source unusual items and I sell many things at very reasonable prices: necklaces, rings, earring and bracelets. Prices start as low as £2 for earrings, and necklaces range from £6 up to £90!
